A woman in her late 20s has died following a tragic collision involving a cube van on Thursday evening.
Police say the incident happened at a busy intersection just before 6 p.m., as the woman was crossing the road. Investigators believe the cube van was making a right turn when it struck her.
She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but later succumbed to her injuries, Peel Regional Police confirmed.
Officers stopped the vehicle a short distance away, and the driver remained at the scene after being located by police. Investigators are now working to determine the full circumstances of the crash, including whether the driver was aware that a collision had occurred.
The Major Collision Bureau is leading the investigation, and police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage to come forward. Tips can be provided directly to investigators or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
