The City of Brampton would like to remind residents of the importance of following by-laws all year-round.

By-laws are essential to maintaining a clean and safe city and every resident has a role to play in order to uphold these standards.

Although the Peel Region has now entered Stage 2, those who are not adhering to regulations can still be fined a minimum of $500 and a maximum of up to $100,000 for each offense under the Brampton COVID-19 Emergency Measures By-law.

They may also be fined under the provincial Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA) or other relevant City by-laws should residents not adhere to them.

Additionally, staff will resume enforcing infractions under the City’s Traffic and Parking By-law in July that were temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Monday, July 6, 2020, enforcement will resume for overnight parking.

Vehicles cannot be parked on the street between 2:00 and 6:00 am, under the City’s Traffic and Parking By-law.

On Monday, July 20, 2020, enforcement will resume for three-hour parking violations. Vehicles may not be parked on the street for more than three hours at a time, under the By-law.

Parking considerations continue to be available online or by calling 311.

For vehicles that require street parking after July 6, 2020, an application is available on the City website.

Vehicles can also be parked on the boulevard space of a driveway between the sidewalk and the street.

Private security companies responsible for monitoring and issuing penalty notices on private property will also resume enforcement of the Park on Private Property offense as well as continuing to enforce accessible parking violations and fire route enforcement.

While City parks are now open, residents are reminded that under Stage 2, all playgrounds and play equipment, outdoor fitness equipment, and drinking water systems remain closed to protect the health and safety of residents.

The City of Brampton is also reminding residents of the importance of maintaining physical distancing.

Everyone must maintain a 2.0 meters distance from anyone outside of their social circle.

Gatherings of more than ten people are prohibited under the EMCPA.

To report gatherings of more than ten people or businesses not complying with physical distancing measures, residents are asked to call 311.
