Brampton’s Mobility Plan has received a 2026 PlanON Vision Award of Merit from the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI).
The plan was one of six projects across Ontario selected for the award, which recognizes planning achievements across the province.
Approved by Brampton City Council in September 2025, the Mobility Plan is the city’s long-term transportation blueprint. It outlines future investments and improvements to help people and goods move safely and efficiently as Brampton continues to grow.
The plan considers the needs of drivers, transit users, cyclists and pedestrians, while also connecting transportation planning with future land-use needs.
It was developed through public engagement and technical analysis and is guided by priorities including better mobility options, road safety, sustainability, technology and community involvement.
Mayor Patrick Brown said the recognition reflects Brampton’s efforts to plan ahead for the city’s continued growth.
The award also recognizes the City of Brampton’s transportation planning staff and project team involved in developing the plan.
