New Recovery Hub Opens in Brampton to Tackle Homelessness and Addiction

BRAMPTON, ON — A major step forward in tackling homelessness and addiction is underway in Brampton, as the Ontario government rolls out a new Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment (HART) Hub aimed at connecting people with the support they need—when they need it.

Part of a province-wide plan investing over $560 million, the initiative will see 29 HART Hubs launched across Ontario, focusing on recovery-based care, improved access to services, and stronger community safety.

Located at 10 Peel Centre Drive, the Brampton hub will act as a one-stop access point for essential services. That includes mental health care, addiction treatment, primary healthcare, housing support, employment assistance, and case management—all under one roof. It will also help meet immediate needs like food, clothing, and hygiene, while guiding individuals toward stable, long-term housing.

The hub is being led by the Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin, working alongside local partners to deliver coordinated, community-based care tailored to Brampton’s needs. By bringing multiple services together, officials say the goal is to reduce barriers and make it easier for people to navigate support systems.

Ontario says these hubs are focused on treatment and recovery, and do not include services such as safer supply or supervised consumption sites. The initiative builds on the province’s broader mental health strategy, including long-term investments to expand care and close service gaps.

Local leaders say the new hub will make a real difference—offering timely, integrated support to individuals and families facing complex challenges, and helping more people get back on track toward stability and recovery.

🇨🇦 In a growing city like Brampton, this marks a significant move toward a more connected and compassionate approach to care.
