Toronto police have charged eight people and seized more than $17 million worth of drugs across four different cities.
Police say all of the people charged were attested and large quantities of drugs were seized in after 29 search warrants were carried out in Toronto, Vaughan, Kitchener, and Stoney Creek last month.
Among the items seized by police were close to 29 kilograms of powder cocaine, 3,905 illegally grown marijuana plants, around 720 kilograms of chemicals used in the production of drugs and over $300,000 in cash.
Police say those arrested were allegedly involved in an “illegal drug distribution network capable of generating profits in the tens of millions of dollars.”
The following suspects are facing charges:
Duc Duy Pham, 32, of Toronto, was charged with:
1. Conspiracy to commit an indictable offense
Quoc Pham, 38, of Toronto, was charged with:
1. three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance-Cocaine
2. Possession of Proceeds over $5,000
3. Conspiracy to Commit an indictable offense
Thi Thuy Van Nguyen, 33 of Toronto, was charged with:
1. three Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance-Cocaine
2. Possession of Proceeds over $5,000
3. Conspiracy to Commit an indictable offense
Mario Palermo, 19, of Toronto, was charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule I Substance (Cocaine)
2. Possession of Proceeds over $5,000
3. Conspiracy to commit an Indicatable Offence – Traffic Cocaine
Ai He, 32, of Toronto, was charged with:
1. two counts of Possession of Cannabis For The Purpose Distribution
2. Possession of Proceeds under $5,000
3. Possession of Proceeds over $5,000
Hung Phi Nguyen, 34, of Stoney Creek, was charged with:
1. Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Ketamine
2. Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000
3. Fail to Comply with Recognizance
Ryan Yetman, 26, of Toronto, was charged with:
1. two counts of Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance-Cocaine
2. Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5,000
Amanda King, 32, of Toronto, was charged with:
1. two counts of Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance-Cocaine
2. Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5,000
