A Brampton man is among three people charged in connection with a series of break-ins across eastern Ontario. Ontario Provincial Police say the crimes happened between July and September and mainly targeted convenience stores after they closed for the night.
Police say the suspects forced their way inside stores and stole cigarettes, lottery tickets, and cash. In total, OPP say 20 break-and-enter cases have now been cleared in communities including Ottawa, Kingston, Cornwall, Brockville, and several other eastern Ontario regions.
The three suspects were already in custody elsewhere and were formally arrested after being transferred to eastern Ontario on Dec. 16. A 28-year-old man from Brampton is facing multiple charges, along with two men from Toronto and Etobicoke.
