A 23-year-old Brampton man is facing multiple charges after police say a Mississauga hit-and-run led to the seizure of about $200,000 worth of drugs.
Peel police were called to a crash near Hurontario Street and Elm Drive around 11 p.m. on Jan. 11. Witnesses reported that the driver of a Range Rover took off on foot after the collision.
Police say their air support tracked the suspect as he ran from the scene, allegedly dumping bags while trying to hide. With help from K-9 officers, the man was arrested after a short chase.
Investigators say the bags contained fentanyl, cocaine, and meth, with a street value of roughly $200,000. More drugs and cash were later found during a search of a Mississauga home.
Nitin Malik, 23, of Brampton, has been charged. The allegations have not been proven in court, and the investigation is ongoing.
