A 25-year-old Brampton man has been arrested after his father was found with fatal gunshot wounds over the weekend, according to Peel Regional Police.
Officers were called to a home on Clearjoy Street Saturday afternoon, where they discovered a man in his 50s suffering from gunshot injuries. Despite emergency efforts by first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police immediately identified the victim’s son as the suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder. Before he was located, authorities warned the public that he was believed to be armed and dangerous and urged residents not to approach him.
On Sunday night, Peel Regional Police announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the suspect had been found and taken into custody. The investigation remains ongoing as officers continue to gather evidence related to the shooting.
