A man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Brampton on Saturday night.

The collision happened around 9:20 p.m. along Bovaird Drive East near Highway 10. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and found a 60-year-old man with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for emergency treatment.

Police confirmed the driver stayed at the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Early findings suggest the pedestrian was crossing between traffic lights rather than at a designated crosswalk when the collision occurred.

The roadway has since reopened, while Peel Regional Police’s Major Collision Bureau continues to investigate. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
