Canadians are waiting for 2019 Canadian federal Election Day that is 21 Oct 2019. Everyone who is eligible especially first-time voters are eager to use their right by following the campaign tagline “It’s Our Vote”.
The most important thing to vote is you must be a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years old on election day.
To use your right, there are several ways to vote.
Vote on Election Day
You can vote at your assigned polling station on Monday within the time slot of 12hrs. Voting hours are different according to the province. If you want to know your polling station then you can check your voter information card or use online Voter Information Service.
Advance Voting
Above explained is normal way to vote on election day, but people who are eager to do advance vote before 21 Oct, can vote at assigned polling stations from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. on these days:
Friday, October 11
Saturday, October 12
Sunday, October 13
Monday, October 14
To find your advance polling station address, you can follow the same procedure as stated above by check your voter information card or use online voter information service.
Voting at Elections Canada Office
You can also vote at Elections Canada office (500 across Canada) Vote at any one of them before Tuesday, October 15, at 6:00 p.m. If you don’t know the nearest Election Canada Office then you can follow this link.
VoteBy Mail
If any Canadian citizen is traveling abroad or living abroad then that person can follow Advance polling days procedure or Voting at Elections Canada office; Along with a person can vote by Mail.
By filling an application form and by submitting a photocopy of your proof of identity and address before Tuesday, October 15, 6:00 p.m
Note: There are special procedures for Canadian Forces voting.
