Parker von Richter didn’t let emotions get in the way when he faced his former Brampton Steelheads teammates on Saturday night. Just days after being traded to the Barrie Colts, the focus was simple — win the game.

The Colts did just that, skating to a 4–1 victory over Brampton in front of a sold-out crowd of 4,226 at Sadlon Arena.

“When the puck drops, you’re not friends anymore,” von Richter said after the game. “You go out there to win.”

Von Richter and fellow newcomer Mason Zebeski played a hard, physical game, showing no hesitation against their old team. Head coach Dylan Smoskowitz praised their effort, saying the new additions quickly bought into the Colts’ tough, defensive identity.

Barrie set the tone early, with Cole Beaudoin scoring just 13 seconds in. Jaiden Newton, Brad Gardiner, and Ben Willmott added the rest, while Kieran Witkowski scored Brampton’s only goal.

The win was Barrie’s 11th in its last 14 games, keeping the Colts firmly on top of the Central Division as they gear up for a deep playoff run.
