If you’re planning to visit, study, or work in Canada, there’s a new update from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that could affect your plans.
As of July 22, IRCC has updated its estimated processing times for temporary residence applications. The latest figures show longer wait times for work permit applicants from Pakistan and the Philippines, while visitor visa processing has become faster for applicants in Canada, as well as those from the United States and the Philippines.
Meanwhile, study permit processing times remain stable, with no major changes reported over the past four weeks. Super visa applicants from Pakistan and Nigeria may also experience longer waits, while processing has improved for several other countries.
IRCC notes that these timelines are estimates and can vary depending on the application. Applicants are encouraged to check the latest processing times before applying and stay updated, with the next IRCC update expected around July 29, 2026.
