Brampton Hindu Temple Fined by Canada Over Missing Documents

BRAMPTON, Ont. — A Brampton Hindu temple has been fined $10,000 after failing to provide documents requested during a federal compliance review under Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP).

Sri Bhuvaneswari Hindu Temple Canada Inc., located at 230 Wilkinson Road, was found in violation of Section 209.4(1)(b) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, according to Government of Canada records.

Federal authorities determined that the organisation did not provide documents requested by an inspector during the review. The final decision was issued on September 28, 2026, with the case now listed on the federal registry of non-compliant employers.

Despite the penalty, the temple remains listed as “Eligible” under the TFWP, meaning it has not been barred from participating in the program.

The TFWP allows Canadian employers to hire foreign workers when qualified Canadians or permanent residents are not available. Employers must maintain required records and cooperate with government inspections.

Depending on the violation, employers can face financial penalties, hiring bans, or both.
