Brampton Marks Major Milestone in Victoria Park Arena Project

Nearly 10 years after the original arena was destroyed by a fire in 2016, the long-awaited replacement is taking shape and is expected to open its doors in Fall 2027. City leaders say the new facility will honour the legacy of the original arena while providing a modern, accessible space designed for future generations.

The new Victoria Park Arena will feature a hardwood playing surface for box lacrosse, ball hockey, and indoor field hockey, along with six dressing rooms, meeting spaces, a referee room, and a spacious multi-purpose room for community events. A second-floor mezzanine with seating for up to 500 spectators will offer fans a great view of the action, while upgraded landscaping will enhance the surrounding area.

The arena will also become the new home of the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame, celebrating the athletes, coaches, and community leaders who have shaped the city’s sporting legacy. Adding to its cultural appeal, two public art installations—including a suspended exhibit inside the Hall of Fame and a striking lobby mural—will pay tribute to Brampton’s rich sports history.

Mayor Patrick Brown called the project an exciting milestone for the growing city, emphasizing that the new arena will be more than just a sports venue—it will be a place where residents can come together, stay active, celebrate local achievements, and build new memories for generations to come.
