Canada has issued 1,000 invitations to apply for permanent residency in the latest Express Entry round held on Wednesday, marking the sixth consecutive Canadian Experience Class (CEC)-only draw. The CRS cutoff stood at 531, slightly lower than recent rounds.
IRCC says the focus remains on applicants already living and working in Canada, noting they integrate faster and fill critical workforce needs.
The Canadian Experience Class—part of the Express Entry system—allows temporary foreign workers and international graduates to transition to PR, provided they have at least one year of skilled Canadian work experience within the past three years.
CEC Draw Highlights:
- Program: Canadian Experience Class
- Invitations: 1,000
- CRS Cutoff: 531
- Rank Required: 1,000+
If multiple candidates scored 531, IRCC used the earliest profile creation time to break the tie.
Officials say the slight dip in CRS reflects ongoing shifts in the pool as the year winds down—expiring work permits, new PGWP holders entering the system, and updated candidate profiles.
What it means for applicants:
Those scoring 531–535 remain in a strong position if IRCC continues this steady pattern. Candidates with lower scores may need additional experience, improved language test results, or a provincial nomination to stay competitive.
Canada’s CEC-focused strategy signals continued priority for inland workers who are already contributing to the Canadian economy.
