Power Returns Across Brampton After Crash Knocks Down Hydro Poles

Thousands of Brampton homes and businesses were left without power early Tuesday after a single-vehicle collision knocked down two hydro poles, according to Alectra Utilities.

The outage initially affected 4,376 customers, but crews have been working to restore service. By 11:50 a.m., the number had dropped to just 83 homes and businesses.

When will power be back?
Alectra says full restoration is expected between 10 p.m. and midnight, while crews replace the damaged poles.

The crash happened around 1:15 a.m. on Rosedale Avenue, where police say a vehicle struck several hydro poles. The road was closed between Fairglen Avenue and Mill Street and could remain closed into the afternoon.

Police say the driver was arrested for impaired driving. Paramedics attended the scene, but everyone involved declined assessment or transportation.

Drivers in the area are being advised to plan for delays while crews complete the repairs.
