A tragic workplace accident in Brampton has left one man dead after he fell into a construction hole Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to Kennedy Road South near Clarence Street, just south of Queen Street East, shortly before 4 p.m. following reports of an industrial accident.
According to Peel Regional Police, first responders rushed to help the adult male after arriving at the scene. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the location.
Peel Regional Paramedic Services confirmed they assessed one adult at the scene but said no patient was transported to hospital.
The area was secured as investigators began their work. Authorities say the Ontario Ministry of Labour will now lead the investigation, with support from Peel Regional Police, to determine exactly what led to the fatal fall.
No further details about the victim or the circumstances surrounding the incident have been released.
