Metro Supply Chain is gearing up to open a 230,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art automated distribution centre in Brampton, with doors expected to open this spring.
The new facility will be powered by advanced robotic inventory and goods-to-person automation, similar to the system the company introduced in Bolton in 2022. Designed to boost speed, accuracy, and efficiency, the centre aims to meet the growing demands of retail and e-commerce across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. While the company is keeping the exact location and staffing numbers confidential, it confirmed the site will rely heavily on smart digital and automation technologies.
City officials are welcoming the investment, saying it strengthens Brampton’s position as a national leader in logistics and automation: Economic Development chair, Coun. Gurpartap Singh Toor stated that the project will create high-quality jobs and align with the city’s commitment to supporting existing businesses as they grow and expand locally.
Metro Supply Chain says the Brampton facility is a key step in building a future-ready, agile supply chain network, helping customers manage rising costs while keeping Brampton at the forefront of innovation in the logistics sector 🇨🇦
