A 19-year-old man is now facing a stack of serious charges—including attempted murder—after a violent carjacking that left two people shot.
It all went down just before noon on April 6th, near Central Park Drive and Glenvale Boulevard, not far from Torbram Road. According to Peel Regional Police, two suspects tried to jack a vehicle with two folks inside. Somewhere in the chaos, shots were fired—yeah, pretty intense stuff.
Now get this—the victims actually managed to drive off and escape, despite being shot. One of them ended up with injuries that aren’t life-threatening, thankfully. The other, though, is still in the hospital in critical condition.
Police say one suspect took off on foot but didn’t get too far. After a chase, officers caught him—and when they did, they found he was carrying a loaded illegal firearm capable of automatic fire. Not something you wanna see on the streets, that’s for sure.
The second suspect? Still out there.
Investigators say they’re still trying to figure out the connection—if any—between the suspects and the victims. But for now, they believe this was an isolated incident, and there’s no ongoing risk to the public.
The suspect, a 19-year-old from Brampton, is now facing nine charges. He’s being held pending a bail hearing. And like always, those charges still have to be proven in court.
Police are continuing the investigation, so if anyone’s got information, they’re being asked to come forward.
