First-Ever Canada Super 60 Crowned to Brampton Blitz

VANCOUVER, BC — Brampton’s Blitz have made history by winning the very first Canada Super 60 cricket tournament at B.C. Place in Vancouver.

The tournament, originally planned for Brampton’s CAA Centre in July, features fast-paced 10-over matches lasting 90 minutes. Six men’s teams and two women’s teams from Canada and other countries competed over six days.

In the final, the Blitz played against the Montreal Royal Tigers. Led by Canadian international Dilon Heyliger, Brampton won by eight wickets, showing a great mix of aggression and control.

“Winning the trophy was more than just a victory — it showed that Brampton cricket is ready to lead a new era in Canadian sports,” the Blitz said in a statement.

The journey to the title wasn’t easy. The team faced close matches, rain delays, and tough opponents, but their skill and determination helped them succeed. From strong performances in the group stages to a tense semi-final win, the Blitz proved they were true champions.

The Canada Super 60 was organized by Star 333 Sports Inc., a UK company, in partnership with Cricket Canada.
Brampton is becoming the cricket capital of Canada, building on the success of tournaments like GT20 and investing millions in sports facilities across the city.
