Canada Clinches World Junior Bronze with Another Win Over Finland

Powered by Sam O’Reilly’s two goals, Canada skated past Finland 6–3 on Monday to claim the bronze medal at the World Junior Championship, avoiding its first three-year medal drought since 1981.

Gavin McKenna continued his standout tournament with a goal and three assists, while Michael Hage chipped in with three helpers of his own. On the back end, Zayne Parekh capped a historic run, setting a new Canadian record for points by a defenceman at a single World Juniors.

Canada did most of its damage early, building momentum in a fast-paced opening period and maintaining pressure with strong special teams play. The win also marked Canada’s second victory over Finland at the tournament.

It wasn’t gold, but it was a strong finish — and a reminder that Canada’s future on the ice is in good hands.
