Man Dies After Vehicle Strike in Brampton, Police Investigating

A man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Brampton on Thursday afternoon, Peel Regional Police confirmed.

The collision happened just after 2:30 p.m. on Mississauga Road, north of Williams Parkway. Emergency crews were called to the area after reports of a pedestrian being hit.

When officers arrived, the man was found suffering from critical injuries. He was rushed to the hospital by Peel paramedics, but later died from his injuries. Police say they are still in the process of notifying the man’s next of kin, and his age has not yet been released.

Investigators say early findings suggest the pedestrian was crossing the road outside of a designated crosswalk at the time of the collision. The driver stayed at the scene and is fully cooperating with the police.

Mississauga Road was closed for several hours while officers carried out their investigation. The roadway reopened later in the evening.
