Brampton Bust: Police Seize $1M in Illegal Drugs in Major Trafficking Probe

Peel police say they’ve seized roughly $1 million worth of illegal drugs following a major drug-trafficking investigation in Brampton.

The details were shared Thursday morning at a news conference at Peel Regional Police headquarters in Mississauga. The investigation — called Project Winner — began back in September 2025 and was led by the Community Intervention Response Team (CIRT).

According to Sgt. Wayne Labine, officers learned that a 29-year-old Toronto man was allegedly involved in numerous drug deals across the region.

Police executed two search warrants at homes in Toronto, where they reportedly found 13 kilograms of illegal drugs, including cocaine, meth, and fentanyl. The drugs are valued at about $1 million on the street.

Investigators also seized a handgun with an extended magazine and about 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

Police have charged Louis Aloysuis, 29, with 11 offences — six related to firearms and five tied to drug trafficking. Officers added that he was already under a 10-year firearms ban at the time of his arrest. He’s currently in custody.

Labine said the arrest and seizures will “have a positive impact on our communities.”
Police don’t expect to make any further arrests in the case.
