Four Ontario developers are stepping up in a big way, committing $10 million to help turn Peel Memorial into Brampton’s second hospital.
The major donation comes from ARGO Development Corp., Fieldgate Homes, Paradise Developments, and TACC Developments, who say supporting local health care is a natural extension of their long history of building strong communities.
“As family-run companies, we’ve spent generations helping shape the communities we serve—not only by building homes, but by supporting the services that allow neighbourhoods to truly grow,” they said in a joint statement. “Health care is a big part of that, and supporting the new Peel Memorial shows our commitment to a stronger, healthier Brampton for generations to come.”
The William Osler Health System Foundation says community donations are crucial, since Ontario’s funding model requires locals to cover all hospital equipment costs and 10% of construction costs.
The new Peel Memorial is set to include a multi-storey patient tower, a 24/7 emergency department, and several expanded clinics, officially making it Brampton’s much-needed second hospital.
